2 Year FdA Degree
Live sound is one of the fastest growing areas in the field of music technology and sound engineering. This exciting two year degree course is very hands-on, with a focus on what it takes to be a success in the field of live sound and PA. The majority of the course takes place in our own venue, the 500 capacity dBs Live in the centre of Plymouth. The course is validated by the University of Plymouth and is delivered by dBs Music in partnership with City College Plymouth. Course fees from 2012 are £5950 per year.
Hands On
This subject requires a large amount of hands on time. Any institution filling their music technology and sound engineering related courses full of lecture and theory classes probably haven't invested enough in their facility.

Subject Overview
The modules cover all aspects of the knowledge required to become a live sound engineer. It is also expected that you will partake in a number of commercial gigs throughout this course under the supervision of a qualified sound engineer thus gaining the real-world experience that is so vital. This can be at dBs Live or at a variety of other venues in the region as has been the case for the last two years at Plymouthʼs Volksfest festival, for which dBs provided the sound.
